It is a tourist hot spot and soon Jaipur can
claim to be one of India's connected cities under the smart city initiative.
The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) intends to setup up a digital
infrastructure to strengthen law enforcement, improve traffic management and
give citizens access to free wi-fi in special zones. Partnering with Cisco, JDA
hopes to transition Jaipur into a smart and connected city in phases.
Shikhar Agarwal, Commissioner, JDA told CNBC-TV18 that, “the vision is to have a master plan in place and the appropriate starting place is the next two to three months time. We are already inviting bids for the consultant and have already set up a task force, which cuts across various departments. They are going to sit together and develop this master plan by July end or August.”
